Which is your lucky particle ?
The classic origami game “fortune teller” is a great way of helping us talk and find out more about particles ! The idea behind this hands on activity is that students get their hands on something that always amazed kids for ages (the classical fortune teller game).
By playing with their peers they are able share with them their current knowledge on particles. “Pick a color”, “do you have charge or not ? “ “ Your lucky particle is.. anti-electron ! “ We adjusted the fortune teller to present the first family of particles, their anti-matter counterparts and we used an original picture of CMS detector as a top. Students craft and color the fortune-teller and are able to play particle physics with their peers.
